N.S.S.

National Service Scheme, under the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports Govt. of India, popularly known as NSS was launched in Gandhiji's Birth Centenary Year 1969, in 37 Universities involving 40,000 students with primary focus on the development of personality of students through community service. Today, NSS has more than 3.2 million student volunteers on its roll spread over 298 Universities and 42 (+2) Senior Secondary Councils and Directorate of Vocational Education all over the country. From its inception, more than 3.75 crores students from Universities, Colleges and Institutions of higher learning have benefited from the NSS activities, as student volunteers.

Important instructions for Admission

  • All the admissions will be done based on individual score & percentage.
  • For admission in BA/B-COM/BSc Part-1, MKCL eligibility form is mandatory.
  • Admission should be done within 15 days of selection.
  • Fees to be paid in case student leaves college without prior intimation to the administration.
  • The Principal holds the right to reject admission. The list of rejected students will remain with principal.
  • For students from other colleges affiliated with Shivaji University needs to procure Transfer certificate from their respective college. The selected students needs to submit a form to their previous college through our principal. The student needs to pay the fees for Transfer certificate in the previous college and the receipt should be attached to the form.
  • Students from universities other than Shivaji University need to procure Migration certificate along with Transfer certificate from their respective universities and need to submit in the college. Also they need to procure Eligibility certificate from Shivaji University.
  • For Migration and Transfer Certificates, students need to pay fees in their respective colleges. Also Students need to submit an application to the university through the principal of their previous college.
  • Also Students need to apply for Eligibility Certificate at Shivaji University. Admission will be confirmed only after student gets eligibility certificate.
  • Eligibility form is submitted to the university through this college.
  • Following documents are required along with this form-

    - 12th std. Result copy (statement of marks) – Xerox copy
    - 10th std. board certificate
    - Migration certificate
  • To get admission in any class student needs to submit two attested copies of the result of the last exam she has appeared for. Also students who seek admission in BA/BCOM/BSc – Part-1 need to produce original result copy in the office for verification and submit attested copy. Original copy will be returned upon verification. Student should keep certified copies of the result with herself. Also school/ Jr College leaving certificate will not be returned once submitted so certified copies of the same needs to be maintained by student. As per the University Rule 1994 Article 65 Admission guidelines, student will get admission in different classes. These guidelines are formulated by Shivaji University legal committee. Fees refund and Deposit

  • Only Educational Fees will be refunded and other Fees are Non Refundable.
  • Fees will be refunded with deduction of 25% administration charges
    - Only if she has cancelled her admission before commencement of the academic year.
    - Only if she has informed this college in advance that she is trying for admission in other college for the new subject other than the subjects available in this college. At the time of applying for refund the student should inform this college regarding the new subject, date of admission in other College through the principal of that new college.
  • If the student has applied for refund before the last date of admission, 50% fees will be deducted as administrative charges and remaining will be refunded.
  • Fees will not be refunded after the last date of admission process is over.
  • If the student does not inform honorary principal regarding leaving or change of college then she has to pay fees for entire semester for the respective subject.

Rules & Regulations for Students

  • Student should always carry/wear her ID card when in the college campus, in the Gymkhana, in the classroom, while taking books in the library, during any program. If any professor, Clarke, officer or peon asks for the ID card, it should be immediately shown to that person without any hesitation. If ID is not provided upon demand, it would be termed as misconduct.
  • If the ID card is misplaced, she should immediately inform in the library. If the ID card is not found then a new ID card will be issued charging a fee.
  • If the subjects selected by the student are not same as the college or university offer then that student has to select the subjects available as per the college or university.
  • Every student needs to read all the notices displayed on notice board. If failed to do so, college will not be responsible for any loss.
  • During University exams, it is mandatory for the student to carry University Exam Fee receipt, Hall Ticket and ID card as per the university law. If junior or senior supervisor demands for ID card, hall ticket or exam fee receipt, student must show it. Without these documents, student will not be allowed to attend exams.
  • If students have any complaints/grievances regarding college, a written complaint should be submitted to the principal.
  • Students must behave as responsible students in the campus area and their conduct must be as per the rules & regulations.
  • If the student remains absent for the classes or practical or exams, she needs to pay the fine as per the rule.
  • The students who do not adhere to the rules of college, a separate record will be maintained and they will not be given admission in the next year and their admission for this year will also be cancelled.
  • As per the Ragging rule no. 52/983 dated 16/7/1999, the person who is involved in ragging directly or indirectly inside or outside college premises or advocating it can face jail term up to two years and fine up to Rs.10,000/-
  • Reserved seats for disabled are 3%.
  • Seats are reserved for backward classes as per the rule.
  • Mobiles phones are strictly prohibited in the college premises. Phone will be confiscated if found with any student.

Rules for Administrative and Office work

  • Office working hours will be 10 AM till 5.30 PM except Sundays and Holidays. If any changes then a notice will be displayed accordingly.
  • While doing any office related work or money transaction, the student must carry her ID card.
  • To obtain Bonafide certificate, passing certificate or any other certificate, a specific application form must be submitted. All the details like Name, Roll, and Class etc. must be filled in the application form. The certificate will be issued within two days once form is submitted.
  • Always take receipt for all payments done in the office.
  • Please do not enter in the office counter.
  • Permission from Principal is must for entry in the office.

If the principal finds the reason valid then the application is accepted. Principal is the sole and final authority in this regard.
  • Parents are requested to meet Head of the dept, vice principal or principal once in every term and check the attendance of their daughters.

    There are six subjects for studies.

Any four subjects can be selected from 1 to 4 groups above. Only one subject can be selected from One group. Out of these four subjects, one language and one social subject is compulsory. Out of these optional subjects, student can select any two subjects at BA part-2 and one subject as a Special subject at BA Part-3.

    Student requires studying six papers of the selected subjects.

BSC Part-3

  • At the time of admission student must mention the names of the subjects as per her priority on admission form.
  • The student will get the admission for the selected subject on the basis of marks obtained and no. of seats available as per the rules set by college and university.
  • As per this rule, if the student doesn’t get admission for the subject chosen as priority, she will get admission for the second subject chosen as per the priority list.

Special Subject

Any one of the subjects -

Note

  • The class at BSc degree course is awarded on the basis of marks obtained in all papers (except English) at BSc Part -1, Part-2 & Part-3.
  • Standard of Passing- Candidates should obtain min. 35% marks in each paper at BSc Part-1, Part-2 & Part-3.

Compulsory Physical Education

This subject is applicable only for BA/BCOM/BSc Part-1. Physical education is imparted as per the Rules & Syllabus from University. Regular attendance is mandatory for Physical Education classes.

Min. attendance required is 80%. Students must select at least two team sports as well as must participate in individual sports.


Guidance for Examination

  • Attendance for Term exams and prelims is compulsory.
  • These exams are conducted on the basis of Final Exams.
  • Students will get the answer sheets of these exams for review.
  • If the student misses exams due to medical reason, she must inform the college within two days along with medical certificate.
  • The students who do not adhere to these rules will not be allowed to attend Final exams.
  • The University rules for ATKT & Grace marks will be applicable only for University exams. If there are any changes in the rules, then it will be displayed on the notice board immediately.
  • Examination form for University final exam and October exam should be filled online.
  • Written Exam for BA/BCOM Part-1 & Part-2 will be conducted as per semester pattern. Marks will be divided 50-50 per semester.

Library and Study Room

  • Library will remain open between 10AM- 3.30 PM except Sundays and Holidays. If it gets closed early due to any reason on any particular day, a prior notice will be put up.
  • The books, magazines, other study material shall be carefully handled by students. Nothing should be written on the study material, pages should not be torn. Students should behave with discipline in the library and should not disturb others.
  • Students will get only one book on Borrowers Card.
  • If pages of borrowed book are found torn, then the student must submit a new edition of the same book along with fine.
  • Days are fixed for every class and books are given on that particular day to the students from that class. ID card is compulsory for borrowing books. Books will be given between 10AM-2PM. Every student must read min. 20 books in every term.
  • Please note that late fees will be applicable if books are returned late. If book is returned after the due date, then fine of Rs.1/- per day and Rs.5/- per week is applicable.
  • Books should be checked before taking in to possession. If the pages are missing or torn, it should be immediately brought in to the notice of librarian otherwise the student who borrowed the book will be held responsible.
